Learn to Skate

Ever wanted your child to learn to skate but didn’t want to buy skates first? Or maybe your child already skates and wants to get more consistent and confident? Join us for a 6-week Learn to Inline Skate at Webster Hills UMC Life Center from March 10 to April 14. Skate St. Louis will provide inline skates, helmets, and teach skating fundamentals and get your child moving!

When: Tuesday Evenings | 50 Minute Sessions | 5PM - 9PM

March 10 | March 17 | March 24 | March 31 | April 7 | April 14

Where: 1333 W Lockwood Ave, St. Louis, MO 63122

Sessions are limited to 20 skaters per class.

Beginner Sessions | 5PM & 6PM

Who: Ages 5-14. Just starting out or have ice / inline skated less than 10 times. Beginner builds general coordination on inline skates and focuses on fundamental positions and movements to get kids rolling. Athletes will progress to more complex movements over the 6-week program.

Advanced | 7PM

Who: Ages 7-14. Recommended for skaters who want to advance their backwards movements and transitions, single leg movements, crossovers, agility and weight placement.

Hockey Conditioning | 8PM

Who: Ages 7-14. This session is meant to be a workout for skaters. This session will get athletes working hard while maintaining proper positions and power output during continuous skating. Drills will emphasize maintaining and generating speed. Proper edge work on skates and weight placement will be a focus.

More Information

All participants are required to wear a helmet to participate. Athletes should bring their own helmet, but in case they are unable to bring their own, Skate St. Louis will have helmets available at no extra charge.
