Our Story
Skate St. Louis was founded in 2021 by August Bindbeutel and Brandon Religa, stemming from entrepreneurial drive and a love for inline skating. The idea originated from August who learned inline skating from his neighbor at 8 years old. Skating to August wasn’t just a way to stay active, it gave him an outlet and a break from the classwork and athletics.
August and Brandon met at Missouri University of Science & Technology in Rolla, Missouri where they both spent their time studying engineering and competing in DII Track & Field. It was clear they had the same aspirations which led them to teaming up in business.
The years August spent inline skating as a kid and young adult helped him understand all types of skates, how to maintain them, and most importantly, how to teach others.
Skate St. Louis continues to grow the skating community, serving over 2,000 kids in 2025 alone.
